This Sunday

As We Gather Sunday January 26, 2020

Third Sunday after the Epiphany

From His very first years on this earth, Jesus was marked for sacrifice and service. Isaiah says of the Lord’s anointed that He was “a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief” (Isaiah 53:3). As we reflect on the ministry of Jesus, we can find the theme of sorrows and sacrifice throughout His earthly life. And we can thank Him for carrying our sorrows and bearing our griefs. Scripture shares that those whom He chose to follow Him, including His twelve disciples, also shared in His suffering. We honor their sacrifice as well in this Epiphany season.
