This Sunday

As We Gather August 20, 2017

The inscription on the Statue of Liberty invites all “yearning to breathe free” to come to America. Our families all were from somewhere else sometime in history. And all of us in the kingdom of God were once foreigners as well. In the Old Testament Reading today, God anticipates gathering people from every nation to join Israel, and Jesus finds great faith in the Canaanite woman in the Gospel. In the Epistle, Paul even finds good news in the rejection of Jesus by God’s Old Testament people, for “God has consigned all to disobedience, that He may have mercy on all” (Romans 11:32). We were all once foreigners, but now we breathe in the freedom of God’s gracious rule, His love and mercy for Jesus’ sake.

What Should I Expect

It is common for people to feel uncomfortable when visiting a new church.  We hope you'll find King of Kings to be a warm, friendly environment where people gather for worship, learning and relationship building.  Attend a few worship services (with no pressure to join into membership) and experience God's Word and Spirit of Truth and Love.

 Two Services/Styles:

   1)  A traditional Lutheran worship service at 8:00 A.M.

   2)  A less formal combination of tradition and modern music at 10:45 A.M.

We welcome children at both services!

After visiting a few worship services, consider attending a Bible Class which are held between services at 9:30 A.M.  We have many different study opportunities including the Foundations of Faith class geared to those who don't know about Christianity or simply want to refresh their understanding of it.

Go ahead!  Check out King of Kings and experience solid biblical teaching and lots of friendly smiles!  There is no 'one size fits all' process to getting connected to King of Kings.   Nevertheless we hope you will!
